Maybelline Color Whisper! 6 Swatches!

There are SO many moisturizing/color lip products out now and I have heard so much positive feed back on the new Maybelline Color Whisper lipsticks that of course I had to buy some and try them out! A lot of people are comparing them to the Revlon Lip Butters and I only have three because honestly, I wasn't really a fan of them. I loved the concept of a moisturizing lipstick but the color payoff on them wasn't impressive. While in my local Target last week I could not find the Color Whisper display ANYWHERE! I literally went up and down every beauty isle three times just in case I had missed them. NOPE, they weren't there. So while in Walmart yesterday I found the whole display! Two displays actually! With all 20 colors. I bought 6 because I thought these colors would look the best on me. They are SUPER moisturizing. It feels like you have a Chapstick on but the pigment of the colors are awesome! The moisture does where off rather quickly (it's not terrible but I do wish it lasted longer) but the color leaves a little stain so you still have that gorgeous color. The swatches and what they look like on the lips is somewhat different. I felt the swatch was a lot more bold than what they look like on. They are all going to look great in the summer. I want more already! Below are the colors I bought with swatches :)

"Some Like It Taupe" and "Rose Of Attraction"
"Made-It Mauve" and "Berry Ready"

"Mad For Magenta" and "A Plum Prospect"

Hard Candy palette: Naturally Gorgeous

I used colors 1, 2, and 8 to create this simple/ light look.
Please excuse the undone and unwaxed eyebrows ;)

Hello all! Today I wanted to post about a recent purchase I picked up at Walmart. I can never have enough natural/neutral eyeshadow and I eye this palette every time I go to Walmart. Finally just picked it up!
This is the Hard Candy 10 shadow palette in Naturally Gorgeous. There are three other palettes I also want to eventually pick up (purple, pink, and green). I've used this palette every day since I've picked it up. There are so many looks you can get! I do not own either of Naked palettes but honestly do I really need to when I have this palette? Probably. Looking at this palette compared the the Naked 2 palette, the Hard Candy palette has more dark colors rather than light like I've seen the Naked 2 palette have. Here are some swatches :)

First 5 colors. They are pretty light but buildable.
With natural light and flash.

Last 5 colors. These ones are pretty dark and pigmented.
With natural light and flash.

What I like to pair this palette with. The ELF Eye Primer and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.

Overall I really like this palette and if you're looking for an inexpensive neutral palette, this is it!
Until next time,

What I Wore Wednesday - Happy Halloween!

Halloween is on a Wednesday!
Today for Halloween I wanted to keep it simple. Just some cute ears because it's really hard to dress up and work with babies LOL they tend to slobber, puke, get boogers on, and sometimes even bleed on you. EW. I had a complete outfit planned around having cat ears. Guess what. Couldn't find the cat ears :| Ran to Walmart and everything was sold out. They only had bunny ears and bat ears left. Went with the bat because really, they're so dang cute :D They have the little ears, wings, pretty purple feathers, and little green bats! I couldn't help myself. While looking at these ears I immediately knew what I could wear and quickly got the heck out of Walmart.
Usually I have a cute little collage of my outfits but today is simply a picture. Today was so busy with the Halloween Carnival at the school this is all I could get! I hope everyone had a great Halloween and goodnight!

Bat Ears: Walmart
Purple Tank Top: A store in the local mall

What I Wore Wednesday

Better late than never! It's about 10pm here in San Diego. Wanted to get my homework finished before play time on my blog :) Priorities friends!
This was the last Wednesday where I spent half the day in the preschool and the other half of the day in the infant room. Starting next Wednesday I will be in the infant room all day. I'm a little sad but also excited because I'll be in with the babies I love FULL TIME :D
It was a chilly day here. This whole week has been in the high 60s low 70s. Next week it's back up to the 80s! I was super comfy in Ryan's sweater, jeans, and flats!
White Tank Top: Walmart
Nike Sweater: Ryan's. Like 5 years old.
Jeans: Old Navy
Bow Flats: Payless

I had three different collages and Ryan picked this one LOL hiding in his sweater :)
It was cold and I was comfy!
Until next time,

What I Wore Wednesday

Happy Hump Day!
Wednesdays are one of my longer days. I work down in the preschool half the day and head up into the infant room for the second half of the day. I want to be comfortable and happy on Wednesdays. I maybe should have thought ahead and worn shorts though because its 93 degrees here in San Diego!
Today I wore-
White tank top: Walmart
Color Block top: Walmart
Jeans: Old Navy
(if you haven't figured out by now, I'm in love with Old Navy jeans!)
Braided Roxy sandals: Macy's
Nail polish: Sinful Colors- Muse

Until next time,

What I Wore Wednesday

I am a preschool teacher and today was picture day! Had to wear something pretty ;)

Brown Tank Top: Walmart
Pretty Top: Charming Charlies
Jeans: Old Navy
Sandals: Walmart

I don't know what color that is on my toes. I picked it out at the salon. It is an OPI polish though :)
I can't wait for upcoming Wednesdays! It's really cooling down here in San Diego (expecting rain tonight!) so I'm breaking out the scarves and moccasins! YAY!
Until next time,

Nail of the Day: Loreal Brit Invasion

Today's Nail of the Day is a color I picked up last night in Walmart's clearance section! It caught my eye because I've been searching for fall colors and this brown/green/grey/purple color with gold shimmer was beautiful! Indoors right now this polish looks like a green/grey on my nails but when I went outside it was definitely a purple/brown!
Outdoors
Indoors

Pretty gold shimmer

I thought I really wasn't a fan of Loreal polishes after the last one I bought, Penthouse Pink. That polish went on really lumpy and I literally took it off right after I did it. Brit Invasion didn't lump at all and was really easy to work with. It went on a little sheer so I used two coats. Overall, I really enjoy this polish and I think I'll use it a lot this fall. Brit Invasion makes me want to try more Loreal polishes. I shouldn't have dubbed them all bad after Penthouse Pink ;)
Do you own this color? What do you think?
Have a wonderful weekend!
-Samantha

UPDATE 10/4/12: The following day after applying this polish it started cracking! I can't even explain the way it turned out! and I applied Penthouse Pink again to just TRY to give it another shot. BAD IDEA. I hatehatehate this polish! It's lumpy, cracked, and there are strange little holes all over my nails o.O No more Loreal polish for me!

Sinful Colors and today's Nail of the Day!

While in Walmart one day with my sister, we ran across this new nail polish brand, Sinful Colors. Walmart had a giant cardboard stand set up introducing this new polish brand they started selling. Honestly, at first I was skeptical. It was cheap! I am a little turned off by cheap polish because I could never seem to make it work. It would clump, the brush would be too big, and/or it wouldn't be as opaque as I had hoped. That day I had passed up these colors and left Walmart with what I had gone in to buy.
About a week later I was again in Walmart and they had moved these polishes to their new permanent home on the shelf. I decided you know what, why not?! Lets give these a try. I picked up Cinderella and Timbleberry that day. I came home and tried them out. I WAS IN SHOCK. Seriously they were both perfect. They went on great, the brush wasn't too big or small, and they were super opaque! You could probably get away with one coat but I always love two.
Sinful Colors is one of my new favorite polish brands. Every time I go into a Walmart or Target or some drug store I make sure to pick up a couple new ones. They are under $2 and they are fabulous! Last week I heard Walgreens was having them on sale for 99 cents and I ran out that day and bought 4! As you can probably tell I am super stoked on these polishes! Here are a few pics from the past couple weeks of the Sinful Colors polishes I have been wearing and my collection so far.
